Land Acknowledgment

We respectfully acknowledge that Sealskin Soulskin studio is on the ancestral homelands of the Huchiun people, on unceded Lisjan Ohlone territory. We feel deeply for the brutal uprooting of the indigenous people and the eclipsing of the indigenous ways with the present day overculture. We recognize that the consequent history of such actions is still alive for the Huchiun in the present and pledge to remain sensitive and aware of this energetic undercurrent. We pay voluntary Shuumi Land Tax to support Sogorea Te’ Land Trust’s work of healing and rematriating the land. The indigenous ways are kept safe and sound in our hearts.
